Preparing for Spring and Rosh HaShanah
This Elul, as you prepare for Rosh HaShanah, please take the time to 'spring clean' your pantry and collect goods to donate for our Sukkot appeal.
Please ensure items are unopened and in-date.
The Spring, we're celebrating the history of our street pantries.
Our first street pantry was opened on Alma Road, East St Kilda in 2020.
Inspired by a pantry in Brisbane, and seeing the need for accessible food in St Kilda, we approached the City of Port Phillip who gave permission for the pantry at Alma Rd Community House
Built by friends of Mazon Australia with wood donated by Bunnings and beautifully decorated by talented volunteers, the pantry has become an integral part of the community.
The need has exceeded expectations, with the pantry emptied almost as quickly as we can fill it.
